The opening Bop dance is a composition in bebop style calling up the world of Parker and Gillespie:its brilliant unisono sets a difficult task to the members of the trio.The guitarist Karl Ratzer having had ten years long guest performances in America represents the seing school with his more modern improvisational melody leading, perceivable rock and funky effects.Rudi Steager is an excellent accompanist.Variations on 12 tones is a theme composed in Schönberg's style by using all the 12 chromatic tones.In their duet Pege and Mangelsdorf who is considered to be one of the best trombonist in the world vary the above theme consisting of 12 tones in a completely free musical setting, without period ties, taking over and devoloping each other's motions.The stiff atmosphere of side one is eased by the swing-like treatment of Evening rendezvous with the famous Lee Harper, Eric Kleinschuster,Fritz Pauer, Eric Beschtragl, in which by the instrumentation, closely nearing the play of trompet and posaune could be archived such a sound.effect, as if two saxophones were playing.Side two has been made by Pege's permanent ensemble.The modern rock jazz compositions are also followed by swing sounding.
